Alcove Posts with curve

Josephine wanted “something” to help her hall alcove “pop” a bit.

So I suggested a couple of posts and a curved moulding, and made the following drawing:

After getting the OK to go ahead, I build the posts out of 1/2″ MDF:

Here is the finished product:
